Service Description
Learn tools through breathing exercises, mindfulness and movement to help manage the experience of stress and anxiety in your body and mind. These yoga therapy techniques are evidence based on research in psychotherapy and neuroscience. Both mindfulness and therapeutic yoga are well known to help improve stress, anxiety and depression. You will learn how to develop your self-awareness, promote better functioning of the nervous system and understand philosophical yoga teachings that can offer positive changes to our wellbeing. Chelsea has undertaken multiple trainings in yoga for mental health, and this is where her passions lie. She likes to think of yoga and it's many offerings as a tool box, from which we can take what we most need. She has previously worked in mental health services and teaches with compassion and inclusivity. Each session shall focus on a particular technique, which you will be encouraged to practice at home. Chelsea will work with you to develop short manageable exercises that you can do on your own, she will explain the psycho-education behind what you learn. Chelsea is not a qualified therapist or mental health specialist, this course will provide you with tools to help manage the symptoms of stress and anxiety.
